This wine is a big, juicy and jammy Zinfandel with a distinctly zesty & spicy nature. Raspberry and cherry dominate, followed by darker elements of elderberry and damson jam. Friendly tannin plays harmoniously with a peppery spice on the finish that gives this wine enormous appeal by itself, yet with a myriad of food pairing possibilities.

Our Estate Syrah is grown right in front of the winery here in Beautiful Calistoga. A big, bold and voluptuous wine that is juicy, intense, and gratuitously seductive. Intense flavors of blackberry jam, with a supporting cast of blueberry and cassis that is decadent from the first taste to its persistent and lengthy finish. Luscious mouth feel and an assault to the sense this is a big Syrah for the big Syrah lover.

The grapes for the Dutch Henry Pinot Noir come from a single vineyard in the Mt. Veeder appellation. The vineyard is a gently sloped hillside that sits at a 1,600 foot elevation and is generally about 10 degrees cooler than the valley floor. Bright fruit, raspberry, with a soft nose hinting of strawberry, the Pinot Noir is unique in its mountain appellation. Fresh with brilliant fruit and a little spice on the finish the wine compliments the likes of duck breast, turkey with cranberry, salmon, and your favorite sweetheart.

The Dutch Henry Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a big cabernet with gripping tannins. This is what the gang drinks ‘round the fire after their latest heist. Makes even a grilled rattlesnake taste good. The grapes for this wine were grown by the Chafen family on a hillside vineyard just south of the winery. This wine opens with notes of plum and cherry with a hint of clove in the bouquet. The wine finishes with black pepper and dried herbs. This is a good candidate for your cellar.

You always liked this restaurant-the owner greets you warmly and whispers the best choices for the evening. “Skirt steak with porcini mushrooms, wild rice pilaf, and Dutch Henry 2003 Reserve Estate Cab.” The grapes for this Cabernet Sauvignon were grown by the Chafen family on a single hillside vineyard just south of the winery in St. Helena. The Vineyard is cultivated to produce low yields of intensely flavored fruit and the wine is crafted to express the unique qualities of the terroir. The wine aged in French oak for 32 months. A sip…plum, cassis, notes of cedar and cola on the long, spicy finish. Life is good!

This varietal is part of the Bordeaux Holy Trinity (C. Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc). Grown on a hillside vineyard in Yountville these grapes lingered for one of the most extended growing seasons I can remember. Big up front blueberry fruit with a subtle dried herb finish.
